Lore Foundation

Purpose and ownership

Keep knowledge of history consistent without putting named historical events in Core.

Canon policy, time conventions, provenance, reliability, truth versus belief, intentional unknowns and contradiction handling.

Questions

What is true, claimed, disputed or unknown? Who could know it? Can an account change without changing the event?

Inputs and outputs

Inputs: World Foundation, Setting Rules and relevant mystery/tone aims.

Outputs: Truth/testimony vocabulary, chronology conventions, provenance and continuity tests.

Prerequisites

World Foundation and Setting Rules.

Stability and evolution

Keep stable: Meaning of claim labels and time conventions used by content.

Can evolve: New historical facts and interpretations are Content; policy revisions need impact review.

Reusable rules

Distinguish established facts, in-world accounts, disputed claims and deliberate unknowns. Record time ordering and sources for historical claims. Keep reveal order separate from chronology and review maturity separate from truth.

Acceptance test

Can two accounts disagree intentionally without both becoming objective canon?
