Novel Skeleton: The Sealed Archive

Work brief

A short prose investigation for readers interested in moral uncertainty. Scope: one archive visit and its immediate decision. Use the five shared contracts, especially direction, narrative conventions, access rules and canon policy. No Game, Art or Level input is required.

Conflict and composition

Use the arc and linked Mara, Iven, place and event. Viewpoint is close third-person past tense through Mara. The record's existence predates the story; its contents are revealed later.

Chapter/scenePurpose and entry knowledgeResulting change and reveal
1: The public pageMara reads the notice; she remembers evacuation but not the order. The reader knows the allegation, not the truth. She requests original evidence, shifting from private doubt to investigation.
1: The signatureIven evades, then explains certification risks after Mara asks for access. The visible water mark gives damage a physical trace. He signs inspection authorization. Mara recognizes his fear without gaining access to his unspoken thoughts.
2: The orderSupervised inspection permits Mara to compare the ledger against the notice. She and the reader learn the documented order; Iven's account remains limited to what he saw. She requests a certified copy; Iven separately signs its certification.
2: A bounded correctionMara holds the certified copy and understands disclosure risks. She submits it under seal to the civic court. The authored ending opens an inquiry without pretending a verdict or universal vindication already exists.

Handoff and review

Draft dialogue and prose within the chosen voice, without a required technical-writing style. Each scene changes goal, access, knowledge or commitment. Iven's optional recollection can deepen empathy but is not needed to understand evidence or the ending. Legal results and council motives are deliberately unresolved; a later chapter would need new content rather than inventing them in the manuscript silently.
